THE STORY:

Fisk the Hawk has lost his way to his nest, it’s your job to make sure he makes his way back!

Like some geocachers, Fisk has a horrible sense of direction. Sometimes he finds his way home, and sometimes he ends up in Macomb County. Today was a bad day for Fisk as he found the Trail Head but forgot how to get back to his nest!

Fisk started his journey to find his nest by heading South West down the marked trail. He flew down the trail, leaving the warm pavement for the cooler rocks of the passageway. He headed down the trail until he came to a ‘T’. He decided to stick with the left, as it seemed vaguely familiar to him. He followed the trail a bit further until he came to a ‘Y’. He stayed flying straight at the junction and took a drink from the pond that was off to his right. What’s this man-made object underneath his feet? It was a bridge that spanned a small creek. He decided to cross the bridge and continue down the trail. The path became a bit more rocky, good thing he was flying and not walking! He came to a junction with another man-made structure that looked like a corral. Didn’t he see one of these in Texas when he went to visit his relatives? There were no sheep in the corral, just some chairs. He decided not to deviate from his course and continued on straight down the trail. He kept the corral to his left. Up a little hill he went, it was no problem for him to climb a little further. He noticed a funny sign on his right. It said “Escape Artists”, he took a minute to read the sign and continued down the path, keeping the sign to his right. The trail changed eventually, to a dirt trail in a wooded setting. Now Fisk was in his element! Uh-Oh, a 4 way stop! What does Fisk do now? He decided not to risk deviating from the trial again so he decided to continue straight past the “FlowerPower” sign to his right. The trail bent a little bit, slightly to Fisk’s Left. After this slight bend, there was a tree right in the middle of Fisk’s path! A stinkin’ tree, right smack in the middle of the trail, ‘Where Do I Go Now’ thought Fisk! Facing the tree from the direction he was coming from, he looked to his right and saw an opening big enough for a human to fit through between a few small trees. From there he walked about 80’ until he found a downed red decomposing tree. ‘Ahhhh THIS is where my nest was!’ Fisk took off the piece of bark next to the red log and found his nest right where he left it!
