Morningside Cemetery is located on the outskirts of the town of
Renick WV. Please note--Google Maps insists on calling the town
Falling Springs--it isn't.!! Follow your GPS readings to the
very near parking to the cache location. Cache is less than two
minutes from nearest parking.
During the 19th and early 20th centuries cemeteries were places
for families to gather, picnic, clean the graves and honor their
loved ones. It was not uncommon for children's games to be played.
Death was all too frequent in those days. Take a few minutes to
stroll about the older section of the cemetery and view the time
worn stones.
Burials are rarely held at Morningside Cemetery now, but if one
is being held, I suggest you visit cache GC2DYD2 while you wait. It
is a 5 minute drive away.
