Groundspeak is on a mission, and you can join other cool California cachers helping them fulfill their ambitious goal to set a new record of the most geocachers logging a cache in one day.
Here's what Groundspeak had to say. "Plan to Go Geocaching on 10-10-10 We want to see how many geocachers can go geocaching on a single day! We've chosen 10-10-10, since the date represents 10 years of geocaching and 10 years of Groundspeak in 2010. Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your worst enemy (if that's what it takes) and let's see if we can beat the previous record of 56,654 accounts logging on April 18, 2010.
EVEN ONE LOG COUNTS SINCE WE ARE COUNTING HOW MANY ACCOUNTS LOG A CACHE RATHER THEN THE NUMBER OF CACHES LOGGED!!!!!
This is not a Flash-Mob neither a day long event. Maybe an hour or so depending how long you want to visit and cache in the area.
Where: Lotus Park (Playground side)
NON- Day Use Fee side
When: 10:00 AM sharp! (Group photo to be taken at 10:10 AM)
What: Bring 10 food items to share for a potluck snacking breakfast
Please wear 10 like items such as: 10 necklaces, bracelets, rings, socks, shirts...etc
10 Geocaches to be auctioned off in 10 minutes.
There will also be a Contest COOLEST Cache container.Let everyone see how creative you can be. First, second and third place winners to be determined by the group. The winning caches will then be raffled off.
You might want to bring your own chair as seating is limted.
