An event to celebrate geocaching.com's goal of having people cache and log the cache on this day. It's at Jack's Peak park. You can park outside and walk in, or pay $5 and drive in. We have reserved the Monterey Pines Group Picnic Area, which is to your left.
There are lots of caches here, and maybe some surprises too. I always check for things before I leave home, don't you? ; ) (That's a hint in case I'm being subtle).
This is a potluck, but hotdogs, condiments, and water will be provided.
Please bring a side dish or dessert to share.
We are also having a raffle, but alas, no coin. You will be able to meet other local cachers, search for caches, and in general, have a good time.
If you bring something to contribute to the raffle, you get an extra raffle ticket!
The fun starts at 11:30 and goes until 2:30! Or until the park closes if you want. (The posted park hours are 11 to 6:30 right now).

We are in the Monterey Pines group area. There is a sign for it as you enter the park. You will turn left as you enter, and then, when the road forks, you will take the upper fork (or leftish fork), and wallah, you're there! Hopefully it will be great weather.
Kids and friendly dogs are welcome of course. I am bringing geodog Clara as Jack's Peak is her favorite place.
Newsflash!!!!We are going to have a FTF Scramble because a few of us are releasing caches in Jack's Peak that day, and it just wouldn't be fair to know that and not share. If you want to participate in the FTF Scramble, please meet in the parking lot at 11:10 AM. We will all be setting off at the same time to look for the new caches. The gate opens at 11. It might be open earlier, but please don't ruin the fun by showing up early and going after the caches. Frankly, that would be cheating kind of.....We will be leaving promptly at 11:10.
If you do not want to participate in the FTF scramble and nobody is at the Monterey Pines group site when you get there, don't despair, we're scrambling for FTF! We'll be there soon!
