Geocache Description:

A Cache with a View

Venture off the beaten path for a grab of a cache. Located off Angeles Crest Highway (Hwy 2) take a quick break to trek over to GZ on this ridge with a view. From here you can see the Mammoth of a mountain named Iron Mountain. The highest peak to the left of Iron Mountain (El. 8,007') is the Grand Daddy of the Angeles Forest, "Mt. Baldy" (El. 10,064'). Below where water flows south is Vincent's Gulch which leads you towards Azusa Canyon, East Fork. There you'll find the Bridge to Nowhere.

The cache is a large round tin located on this ridge. The photo was taken at GZ where you'll find a twisted fallen web of timber. You can park at the highway sign with a nice pullout and trek along the highway ridge. You'll easily find a narrow trail that will lead you down this ridge. Watch out for snakes, I did not see any on my trek but this could be some prime real estate for them to sun in. Watch out for the irritating foxtails. You'll find them along this trail for sure. Please use caution when poking around dark hidden holes especially here at GZ. Please replace the cache to its proper location.
