9th in the “O' Brother Where Art Thou?" series…one of my favorite movies! Released in 2000, it highlights the travels, exploits, and adventures of Everett, DelMar, and Pete! BYOP.
This scene finds our three, free spirited runaways asleep on the top level of cousin Wash’s barn. During the night, Pete’s kin - Washington Hogwallop - decides to turn in Everett, Pete, and DelMar for the reward money. The local sheriff and his deputies arrive with hound dogs, machine guns, and a bad attitude. An argument ensues between Pete and Wash, the sheriff decides to shoot at our three anti-heroes, and then torch the barn. All the while, Everett keeps mumbling the title of this cache…he said the same phrase four times! Needless to say, all three got out of this jam and escaped from the burning barn, but you’ll need to watch the movie to see how they did it!
The barn is about 300 yards from the actual cache location, and you might actually see some farmhands and horses nearby. I don’t think you’ll have to worry about any escaped convicts hiding in the barn, or the sheriff wanting to torch the place way out here!
The container is on Jesse Allen Road, almost directly across the road from the mentioned barn. Please do not visit the barn, or enter the farm land nearby. The camo’d plastic container is outside the fence, and once you arrive you’ll see there is only one spot it can be...and if you’ve done any of my “Knot A Pine” series, this will be super easy. Park nearby and you’ll understand the connection with the movie line title. HAPPY HUNTING!
