Park in nearby roads Furzefield Road.
A nice cache to find. Waterproof plastic box. Will have to climb up the short bank distance to find.
The house at the top of the hill belonged to Samuel Palmer, he owned the left wing nearest us. Born 27 January 1805, died 24 may 1881 aged 76. He was English and a landscape painter, etcher and printmaker. He was also famous for his writings. I expect he brought this property for its excellent views. Buried in St Marys church yard.
Cronks Hill road rather a steep hill, it has been lowered several times to help its traffic reach its summit. if you look on the wall opposite he footpath you can make out where it has been lowered.
The path leads into Meadvale Copse.
