Welcome to the Third monthly meeting of the ....
Let's go camping edition!
This weekend we're going to have an outdoor event at Blanco State
Park. We will be camping there for the weekend and have other
events on other days. There will be a breakfast at the Pie shop on
Saturday and then a park clean up (CITO) on Sunday morning (not an
event).
Friday evening, we will all meet at the park, swap or just oogle
coins and other stuff, tell stories, eat dinner (pot luck) and just
have a bunch of fun!
Please join us at the park for a
FULL WEEKEND
of fun and caching!
Some info about Blanco State Park:
Located four blocks from Blanco’s charming, historic town
square, the park borders one mile of the spring-fed Blanco River
and draws legions from nearby Austin and San Antonio to relax in
the sun, swim, tube, fish and camp. Bring your own volleyball and
net, horseshoes and floats to make the most of the facilities.
Spend a quiet weekend picnicking under the trees and watching stars
at night. Shelters and campsites make this park popular with both
tent campers and RVers. Map of park, click here.

Detailed information on Blanco.
History: Blanco State Park is 104.6 acres, along the Blanco River,
in Blanco County. The land was deeded by private owners in 1933
before the park was opened in 1934.
The park area was used as a campsite by early explorers and
settlers. A spring in the park made the location ideal when the
river was dry. Original developments were made by the Civilian
Conservation Corps (C.C.C.)
Activities: Activities include camping; swimming; picnicking;
hiking; nature study; boating (electric motors only); and fishing.
Tube, canoe and kayak rentals are available at the park. Annual
Events: Blanco Classic Car Show - 3rd Saturday in May.
