While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

Geocache Description:

Drafnkollen og Drafn huset ligger i Austadlia i Drammen. En super plass for å utforske skogen mellom Drammen og Konnerud!

Drafnkollen er en hoppbakke i Austadlia i Drammen som ble innviet 1939 og nedlagt 1970. Siste renn ble avholdt i 1965. Rennet i 1966 snødde bort, og stillaset knakk under snømengdene. Tårnet ble sprengt i 1970. Den siste bakkerekorden lød på 90,5 meter, satt av Guttorm Heldal. Det ble avholdt NM i hopp to ganger i bakken, i 1946 og 1956.
I 1972 sto fotballbanen ferdig, etter at sletta i hoppbakken ble utvidet mot vest. I hjørnet mot øst ble «Corneren» bygget, et område på ca. 50 m², som gjorde at banen ble hevet over bakken. Senere ble en barnehage bygget under «Corneren», og dette gjorde Drafnkollen til den eneste banen i verden med barnehage under.
Dette byggverket ble revet sommeren 2010 for å gi plass til ny og utvidet barnehage.
Drafnkollen er nå også en vei som går fra Stasjonskameratenes Hus på Austadsletta opp til boligfeltene i Øvre Austad Skog. (Wikipedia)
