This is an access trail to a Rio Grande River Gauging Station and has been in use for a very long time. Possibly even by Native Americans prior to the arrival of settlers.
I would not recommend low clearance vehicles on the access road as there are a couple spots that are very rocky.
Not many caches in this area so I thought this would show folks a beautiful view and place on the river.
The cache is only halfway down the trail to the river. The lower part of the trail below the cache is steep so feel free to just enjoy the view at the cache site or hike all the way down and enjoy the river.
The cache is a clear plastic food container and has a logbook, pencil and miscellaneous trade items.
The access is through private property so please stay on the road and leave any firewood the owners have left for their next camping trip. Be respectful.
