Geocache Description:


I have long wanted to hide a cache in the middle of the road and I finally got my chance.  This easy cache should be a good one for the kids.
The 3.2 mile long Hike Bike Pike is a combination of packed gravel and blacktop which runs along Lick Creek and Highway 245.  If you decide to hike or bike this trail be aware that this is not a loop trail and you will need to return along the same path for a total of 6.4 miles.  Parking for the trailhead is located at N37 55.540 W085 39.180.
Update 4/15/2012:  I guess you can now call this cache beside the road or Not in the Middle of the road as the three large boulders pictured above now sit just off the road.  The cache is hidden in the same place as before but just 8 feet from its original location.  Maybe someday soon the cache may make its way back to the Middle of the Road.
You are looking for a large camouflaged RX container hidden right next to the trail.  

This cache has been approved by Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest.  Bernheim has established guidelines and a permitting process for this type of  activity. Details are available at Bernheim.org.
