Geocache Description:


This is a special cache, located not far from the Niagara Escarpment.

Welcome to the Honeymoon Trail.

Thanks to the combined affects of the Seaway shoreline and the soil composition, this area of Western New York is home to a unique microclimate. This area is suitable for producing many excellent varieties of grapes, as well as a number of different orchard fruits. Yes, those are vineyards that you see off in the distance. Vineyards and orchards are the heartbeat of the agriculture scene found in the shadow of the Niagara escarpment, from Middleport all the way to Cambria.

This cache is an easy find, but should only be pursued during daylight hours, as it was placed with permission on private property. This means ABSOLUTELY NO NIGHT-CACHING.

This cache is placed as part of the Great Lakes Seaway Trail Geotrail, located within the Buffalo/Niagara Falls Region. There are 15 caches hidden within this region, and geocachers finding ten or more Great Lakes Seaway Trail Geotrail caches within this region can earn a free Buffalo/Niagara Falls Region geocoin.
