Cineast-cache nummer två handlar om filmen Hon dansade en sommar, som har gjort ett viktigt avtryck i svensk och internationell filmhistoria.

Hon dansade en sommar lär vara den svenska film som setts av flest människor, både i Sverige och utomlands. Visst är Ingmar Bergman känd men hans filmer har aldrig lockat någon storpublik. Inget fel på filmen i sig men anledningen till uppmärksamheten runt filmen lär snarare bero på att Ulla Jacobsson visar brösten i en scen. Helt oskyldigt men något enormt på den tiden.

Filmen var del i diskussioner kring filmcensur och och en del kritiker var upprörda pga av handling och nakenhet.
Filmen blev bla omnämnd i ett memorandum 1954 skrivet av Staten New Yorks Utbildningsdepartement (New York State Education Department) , utifrån Staten New Yorks lag (New York State Law) 1954 -Kapitel 620, memorandumet innehöll definitioner kring ”omoral” och kring ”uppmaningar till brott” för filmcensurens användning.
Memorandumet tog denna film som ett exempel kring vilken Utbildningsdepartementets Filmdivision hade ”blivit överhopad med förfrågningar och anhållanden om att om ompröva filmer som hitintills hade ansetts varit stridande mot de då gällande förordningarna." I memorandumet framgick det att Hon dansade en sommar ”innehåller en scen där en pojke ,19 år, och en flicka, 17 år, som tillbringar en semester ihop, simmar och omfamnar varandra nakna.”
Handling i korthet
Universitetsstudenten Göran kommer till sin farbrors gård ute på landet och där träffar unga Kerstin. Det blir kärlek från första ögonkastet men Kerstin hålls i hårda tyglar av sina släktingar. Ungdomarna i trakten vill ordna en egen teateruppsättning ("Värmlänningarna") men den stränge prästen gör sitt bästa för att stoppa dem. Att Göran måste återvända till sina studier gör inte valet lättare för honom. Slutet blir tragiskt.
Filmfakta
Hon dansade en sommar från 1951 är regisserad av Arne Mattsson, baserad på romanen Sommardansen från 1949 av Per Olof Ekström. I huvudrollerna syns Ulla Jacobsson och Folke Sundquist.
Den tilldelades som första svenska film Guldbjörnen vid Filmfestivalen i Berlin 1952.

Nu är dock vassen borta och det enda sättet att konstatera den exakta platsen är att titta efter de stenar som stack upp i bakgrunden under scenen (titta sydväst) , de sticker fortfarande upp.

Cineast cache number two is about a movie, One summer of happiness, which has made an important impact in the Swedish and International Cinema History.
The cache will take you to a the shooting location of the famous sequence in the movie where you in the movie get a glance of the breast of Ulla Jacobsson in the reed.
The movie One summer of happiness is considered to be the Swedish movie which has had the largest number of viewers, both in Sweden and outside Sweden. Ingmar Bergman may be famous but his movies have never attracted any large audiences. The movie itself may not be the reason for the attention, it is a good movie, but the real reason was probably that the lead actress Ulla Jacobsson showed her breast in a short sequence. In an innocent way but at the time sensational.
The movie was causing a lot of discussions about censorship and some critics was upset due to the plot and the nudity.
The movie was mentioned by a 1954 Memorandum of the New York State Education Department, written with regard to New York State Law 1954, Chapter 620, which added definitions of "immoral" and "incite to crime" for motion picture censorship purposes.
The Memorandum cited this film as an example of a film about which the ED's Motion Picture Division had been "beset with inquiries and applications for reconsideration of motion pictures which heretofore have been regarded as contrary to the present provisions of the statute." It stated that One Summer of Happiness "contains a scene where a boy, nineteen, and a girl, seventeen, spending a vacation together, swim and embrace in the nude."
The film plot in short
The university student Göran arrives to his uncle’s farm, in the countryside, where he meet the girl Kerstin. It is love a first glance, but the relatives do not give their consent to the relationship. The young people in the neighborhood want to organize and set up a play, the “Vermland Folks”, but the stringent priest is trying to stop them. The fact that Göran have to return to his studies does not make the choice easy. The ending is tragic.
Film Facts
One summer of happiness was directed by Arne Mattsson in 1951, and is based upon the novel “the Summerdance” written 1949 by Per Olof Ekström. In the leading roles were Ulla Jacobsson and Folke Sundquist.
It was the first Swedish movie which won the “Golden Bear” at the International Movie Festival in Berlin 1952.
About the cache
The cache is a Magnetic Film canister, and is placed at a position with view over the bay where the sequence was recorded. Please, when returning the cache make sure that it is possible for next visitor to get hold of it again!. But not in plain sight.
Unfortunately the reed is gone and the only way to locate the exact place is trying to locate the stones still protruding the lake surface. These stones were seen in the background of the sequence. (Look south-west!).
Extreme stealth at the place is periodically required.
Other Points of Interest
You got a view of the Manor House “Sjöö” at the opposite side of the lake. The Uppland Walking Trail passes nearby. Nearby there is a beach suitable for bathing. During summer season there is a restaurant and a minigolf-course accessible nearby.
