Lactodorum: Rather than keep this cache temporarily disabled (which should only be used for shortish periods) I'm archiving it. If/when the cache is ever replaced I'll gladly unarchive it assuming it still meets the guidelines.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located in a wooded area, that is readily accessible by foot only. The terrain is virtually flat.

This cache lies in a wooded area that is entirely accessible by footpaths - so no bush bashing please! The nearest car park is approximately 900m away (as the crow flies).

If you require a map, then the Ordnance Survey Explorer (1:25 000) No. 141 is recommended.

The cache consists of a clear sided tupperware style box and contains all the usual stuff.

The area that the cache is located in is owned and managed by the Somerset Wildlife Trust (SWT). Emma Daniel, of SWT, has added the following information about the area:

Thank you for visiting the Somerset Wildlife Trust’s Reserve, Great Breach Wood to look for the Geocache. The reserve consists of secondary woodland with rides and glades. Please respect our reserve by leaving nothing but footprints and taking nothing but photos.

The woodland is important for butterfly and flora as well as the commoner mammals such as roe deer and badgers. The rides (grassy tracks) are cut annually in the autumn which benefits the flora. Areas of the woodland have been thinned to allow light onto the ground to promote tree seeds to regenerate. You may have noticed some of the trees on edges of the rides have been cut or coppiced. This widens them and allows light to the botanically rich rides and glades. There is programme of ride edge coppicing. If you want to find out more about the work that SWT does please contact me(emma.daniel@somersetwildlife.org)
