Geocache Description:

VSP approved rails to trails cache not far from the Park visitors center. There is a parking fee inside the Park, but not at the multi-use trail heads. The multi-use trail runs through the middle of Wilderness Road State Park.

This ancient trace was a migration route for the Eastern Woodland Bison. They used the trace to travel to salt licks, canebrakes, and grassy meadows in Powell's Valley. The Native Americans used this trace as part of the Warriors Path, and later by Daniel Boone. This trace became known as the Wilderness Road.
