Join us at Oak Mountain State Park for our 7th Annual Birthday
Picnic to celebrate the accomplishments of Alabama
Geocachers.
Let's gather starting at 11:00 am and eat at 1:00 pm to allow the
Kings Chair Hikers to join us. Geoawards to be at 2:00 pm. Please
don't be shy if your milestone has not been recognized!
8:00 am - Kings Chair Hike Departs from North Trailhead.
11:00 am - Pavillion Set up
1:00 pm - Lunch!
2:00 pm - Magnificent Marshmallow War - Volume II (assuming the
guns and ammo are brought) and Door Prizes
2:15 pm - Oak Mountain Very Wet Cache Attempt
We will have plenty of time to cache, hike, socialize, and cook.
Alabama is blessed with all of the ingredients for great
geocaching; lots of interesting places, friendly active people,
weather to suit anyone's taste, and a cohesive and unifying
Association that serves all of us.
There are many caches in and around the park, and more will be
placed before the event, meaning camaraderie, good food and
geocaching... now that's a recipe for a good day! Please be advised
that the state park does charge an admission fee. Per

Day Use Fees:
Weekdays: $2 for Adults
Weekends and Holidays: $3 for Adults
Children 6 to 11 years of age: $1
Senior Citizens 62 years of age and older: $1.
Please note your intended recipe name with your Will Attend note so
we'll know who is cooking/bringing what. If your geo-name
represents more than one cacher, log another one so we have good
feel of the true number of attendees.
Although the event was financially guaranteed by the following
cachers, I plan to have a donation jar out to cover the cost of the
pavillion. If eveyone contributes at least $5 per adult, these
committed sponsors will not need to donate $20 each:
