Geocache Description:

This cache is a magnetic nano, bring your own pen/pencil. You could also have a look for Lavender View (GC2181T) whilst doing this one.

3rd Wingerworth Scout Group placed this cache as part of their Community Badge. Wingerworth Sheep Dip Built around 1850 this parish sheepwash was used until the 1920's. A pool was formed by damming the brook, sheep from the local farms where driven here, herded from pens into the water where they were dipped with a pole and then collected from the ramp. Some years a 1000 or so sheep were dipped here at a cost of around 1 shilling (5p) per 20 sheep.
