Geocache Description:

This is a series of 15 caches in a circular walk of about 6 miles on footpaths and bridleways around Aveton Gifford – we love the walks in this area and realised that there was a distinct lack of caches.
We have chosen 15 caches as this is the number of children and grandchildren we have between us, and we thought that it would be nice to name the caches after them.
The caches are named in the children’s age order – youngest first!!
If you have time, the church is well worth a visit. It was originally built in the 12th Century, but was bombed in the Second World War by German planes heading for an artillery base in Loddiswell. The church was rebuilt after the war, to a third of its earlier size with the only original part still standing being the entrance porch. It is situated next to the 16th Century farmhouse of Court Barton, which has fond memories for Jill (Mrs Shattered Stroller), as her 4 children were raised here.
We suggest you start by parking in the church car park. Walk back out of the car park and down the lane to the footpath on your right passing by Little Court.
All caches are on the public footpaths. The tracks between Caches 8 and 10 may be a little muddy when wet.
We hope you enjoy our first series as much as we have enjoyed planning and placing the caches.
