This is a two stage multi-cache. The final is within a couple hundred feet of stage 1. This area is prone to flooding after heavy rains
To find the final you need to do the following: On the back of a sign that is near the posted cords is a QR code, look for the code and scan it. After it is scanned you will see the name of a cacher, use the numbers only in the name to find the cords to the final. Add all the numbers together that are in the name of the cacher to get the value for F. Use below equation to find the final. MamaDuck71
North = N 41° 47.(108 + F + 10)
West = W 88° 10.(737 - F + 39)
This is located at the south end of McDowell Grove Forest Preserve close to Fawell Dam. This is a very nice forest preserve. The dam is an excellent location to put a canoe or kayak into the West Branch of the DuPage River and enjoy a paddle through Naperville. A good take out is Knock Knolls Park. Only problem is water level. You have to catch it after a rain so there is enough water to get through but this area is also subject to flooding if we get too much rain and then the current as well as bridge clearances can be a challenge. There is a very nice trail over the dam and up the east side of the preserve.
If you want a nice hike, park in the forest preserve and hike the trail down the west side of the river. If you want a quick grab, park in the specified parking area.
Located near the dam is a webcam that you can view so if you want (Not Required) use your smart phone and snap a picture of you and your team at the dam and post it with your log.
