On top of one of the rolling hills near a rock in the Kentucky-Alleyne Provincial Park.
Nice stroll to the other end of the lake.
***NOTE, you will NOT find unless you use the hint***
Buried on the surface of a small hill lay about 8 intriguing metal plaques dating back to the 70's & 80's. Kentucky-Alleyne Provincial Park is located approx. 30 minutes south of Merritt, B.C. off of Hwy 5A with easy access from the Okanagan Connector. The area surrounding Merritt is known for its many lakes including the Kentucky-Alleyne chain. These lakes are well-stocked so fishing can be excellent. Surrounding the azure waters are fir and ponderosa forests intermingled with rolling grasslands and a beautiful variety of flowers and shrubs. This area provides excellent habitat for birds and animals. Beavers have lodges nearby and deer are permanent residents. Nearby is the famous Douglas Lake Cattle Ranch and herds of cattle can often be seen and heard in the distance.
To access this site begin your stroll or bike ride from the beginning of the gated road to the group campsite. Walking time will be approximately 11/2 hours return, biking 40 minutes return. Please respect the cattle gate by keeping it shut at all times. This site is also accessible by water but the beach landing could be tricky.
