This cache is located near the junction of the Faunce Forest Road and the East Entrance Hogsback-O'Brien Forest Road.
This cache is located on the former site of the Faunce Post Office and Store. This existed from 1924-1937. This area of Minnesota was homesteaded early in the 20th century. However, the sandy soil was poorly suited for agriculture and the people living here struggled. The Federal government bought out the homesteaders and moved them to locations with soil better suited to farming. This area is now part of the Beltrami Island State Forest. Look closely when you are searching for the cache and you will see some metal debris on the ground from 70 years ago.
