This micro is located near the historic National Hotel in Beallsville on Route 40. This is an easy park-n-grab that can be on the way to several other caches in the area. Waterproof NUUN container. Cache was placed with permission of the property owner.
The National Hotel was originally built in 1821 as the Greenfield Tavern. It became the National Hotel in the later part of the 19th century. The Hotel is located in the Beallsville Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Hotel sat vacant for several years, but was recently re-opened as a cafe/bakery open for breakfast and lunch. This Hotel, and Beallsville has a rich history, too much to go into here.
