The Sutton chook raffle Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

DARKSIDEDAN: I took over this geocache for Mr Roo who no longer lives in the area. After making a trip out to the GZ it was discovered that the Cache was missing. The farmer across the road from the cache appears not to like all the traffic going past his house and he is the prime suspect for removing the cache. I have decided to Archive the cache to give others a chance to put new caches out in the area.

Geocache Description:

A cache in Sutton NSW

This cache welcomes you to the small township of Sutton NSW.

Sutton village is located some 20 kilometres to the north east of Canberra, a picturesque area in the rolling hills that are the upper reaches of the Yass River.

The village is easily accessed from the Federal Highway, approximately 8 kilometres on the Sydney side of the NSW and ACT border. The village and surrounding region offers a country lifestyle that is only minutes from the National Capital.

The region has a long and diverse rural history. Traditionally, horses, cattle or sheep could be found on most properties. More recently, alpaca and deer farms have been established in the area and the region is home to a number of wineries and olive groves which illustrate the region's farming diversity.

Villages in the region are a popular destination as an alternative day trip from Canberra, offering a considerable range of attractions. Historic goldfields, wood-wares and leather goods, other arts and craft, wineries, market shopping, field days, horse racing, pony clubs, polo and golfing are just some of the regional attractions.

And all this need not be a rushed. For those looking to stay over for a night or more, economical accommodation including country pubs, caravan parks, bed and breakfast, and resort style living is available in the region.

The country life style of Sutton village and the region has something to offer everyone, and is a great destination for the day-tripper looking for that special difference while visiting the National Capital.

The cache was at the towns welcome sign but now has been moved up the road. It shouldnt be hard at all to find. The logbook is a raffle book. Please sign and take a ticket. When the book is full I will be drawing a prize. Please let me know when the book is getting to the end.

Hoooorayyyy First to find goes to Blackbunny
