This cache is the first in the Alabama Spay/Neuter Series. My goal is to place a cache at each of the state's low cost Spay/Neuter Clinics. Currently they are located in Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile, Dothan & Huntsville.
In August 2008, two orange cats started hanging out around my house. They were so skinny, I began feeding them. I named these two handsome boys Simon & Garfunkel. I trapped Simon & Garfunkel, took them to the new Spay/Neuter Clinic in Irondale, and had them neutered.
And so . . . my adventure began. Since 2008, I have trapped 23 cats & kittens. Most of them are feral, and were released, but about 1/3 have been adopted to loving homes. Most importantly, the population is under control, and new litters are not popping up. I would not have been able to help this many cats, if it were not for a low-cost clinic in Birmingham. This cache is dedicated to my friends at the Alabama Spay/Neuter Clinic in Irondale, and to all those compassionate people who are willing to help a stray animal.
