The Summerlin flyover was to be completed in May 2010 but then all work stopped in December of 2009 when asbestos was discovered on the southern portion..which was almost ready for paving. The process was reversed and the retaining walls were removed and the fill was sifted for asbestos. Just over a 5 gallon bucketful was found.
As of Septemeber 2010 work has started to put everything back together.
The 30,000 drivers that use this intersection each day are ready for work to be completed.
7-10-11 Update: It's almost done!
8-14-11 Update: It opened June 17th but now there is a problem in the intersection with the traffic flow. Westbound traffic has to take a slight jog and there have been some accidents.
01-16-12 Update: Solved intersection issue. It is really done!
