Geocache Description:

Located on the former RNZAF base now open to the public. Try out the coastal circuit walk and cycle track. It’s a great way to explore Hobsonville Point and its many interesting features, including the new cafe, a fantastic new playground and park, and the Landing, where seaplanes once flew to and from.During World War 2, the bomb storage buildings visible from this cache were disguised as small houses, lines of washing were set up to give the impression of seaside homes.

Some areas in Hobsonville Point have no vehicle access. This is to promote walking and cycling and protect vegetation, so you are more than welcome to walk/cycle from those points.

Some buildings are still being used by Defence, these are clearly marked, and please respect them by not entering.

The Cache is a small container covered in dark green duct tape. It has a small logbook and some trinkets for the kids to swap
