Geocache Description:

The story behind this is my future son in-law and I were hiking in the park. He 'knew' of a shortcut. Well, it wasn't a shortcut and it was barely a trail, but it helped me find this area.

I planned this as a cache where you start at the South lodge

There are 2 ways to the cache, the hard way and the wet way. I did the wet way today and my feet still hurt. I won't do it again that way!

If you see the Coyote Den sign, you are headed in the right direction if you are following the creek. It is a steep trail. If you lose your footing you will be in the drink.

The last 100 ft is the worst. Watch your step, don't fall (or for that matter drop your GPS like the CO did) because it will bounce and go spluck. Spluck is the sound of mucky ooze. I will say there is a way to get to the cache and stay 100% dry, but it wasn't easy. You will want boots. Watch your step and be careful. Some of the hills are steep and slippery. A hiking stick is a good thing to have.

The cache contains some small trade items/toys and a crisp $2 for the first to find ($2 bills are just fun).

Once you place the cache back, please do your best to camouflage the area again.

Enjoy the workout and have fun!

Just a note - there is a dry path to the cache. You have to look for a bit, but it is there!

Congratulations to WAM86 on First To Find! Nothing like a moonlight stroll. Glad you made it out ok.

Also, since you are in the area you may want to check out GC73DF - it's an old archived cache that is still there.
