This geocache has been placed in honor of Pinnacle Mountain State Park's first Geocaching Weekend. Dedicated in 1978, the land and resources of Pinnacle Mountain State Park have a long history dating back before it was protected as a state park in 1975. From quarrying to trash dumping, the land had many uses - including use as a very popular spot for flappers to party! This hunt will take you off trail. Please be prepared by wearing long pants and closed-toe sturdy shoes or hiking boots and bringing plenty of water for the whole family (including Fido!). Also note you must park in a marked parking spot - if the main picnic area is full, please park across the highway and follow the short, paved path under the bridge.

Park and visitor center admission is free. Park gates open at 6:30am, 7 days a week, and are locked one hour after sunset - please plan your adventure accordingly!
