Kataamäki
Kataamäeltä avautuu hienoja maisemia erisuuntiin Pyhäjärveä. Alueen
luonto on yllättävän luonnonmukaisessa tilassa ja mäellä olevat
kangasmetsät ovat mielestäni muutenkin viihtyisiä.
Purkille voi saapua idästä tai lännestä.
Parkkipaikkakoordinaateista kävelymatka ei ole lyhyin, mutta maasto
on tätä kautta melko helppoa kävelemisen kannalta. Lisäksi tällöin
on mahdollista nähdä muitankin maisemia kuin vain purkin
ympäristöstä avautuvat. Matkalla parkkinaatteihin on puomi ja vanha
yksityistiestä kertova kyltti, mutta käytännössä muutkin kuin tien
kesämökeille suuntaavaat ihmiset ajelevat sinne vapaasti.
From Kataamäki hill there can be seen lots of beautiful scenery
around the surrounding Pyhäjärvi lake. The nature around the cache
area seems to be in a surprisingly natural state. I personally like
the dry peaty forests around the cache site.
It is possible to approach the cache from either the eastern or
the western side. From the given parking coordinates the distance
to the cache is not actually the shortest, but the terrain is most
suitable for walking there. In addition this route offers some
extra viewpoints which could otherwise be missed. On the way to the
parking place you will come across a sign stating the road as a
private road, but in practice people tend to ignore this very old
sign.
