This cache is meant to be difficult. Please do not post spoilers in your logs and we are hoping you will not use paf. DNF logs are expected!
There used to be a cache on this loci and it was removed because there was supposed to be a building going up to protect it from the elements. That was quite a while ago and nothing has happened so we thought it would be fitting to place another cache to bring people to see this piece of logging history that they might not otherwise see. We have been here three times to get a good set of coordinates. They have been different each time (but close). Suggest you stand back and settle the gps before approaching. Have fun!
This locomotive was built in 1937 by Baldwin Locomotive Works and purchased by Comox Logging in 1937. It operated until 1961 hauling logs from Nanaimo to Ladysmith. Loci #11 was overhauled when it was retired and put on display here in 1962.
