glasfory: Our first cache has had it's day. With the renovations being undertaken on the house and a security caravan close to GZ, we have decided it is best to archive.

A quick cache and dash down a quiet country lane with ample parking
Great Frampton once must have been a splendid house (note the ornaments on the roof) Now it has fallen into a ruin as have the extensive farm buildings adjoining it. It was severely damaged by fire in the 1990s and is now propped up by scaffolding.
An intact, narrow, side staircase rises to the top of the three storeys of the house, was this the staircase that lead to Nathaniel Pigott’s 18th century observatory?
The Wilkins family accrued the land and the property in the 19th century.
Great Frampton left the Wilkins family in 1862 when the heiress, Emma, died and the land and property went to her husband Colonel Gould.
The buildings and the main house are now being redeveloped and will probabaly be used as holiday accomodation. You do not need to enter the garden or house to find the cache. Be aware of temporary residential accommodation overlooking the cache site.
