Lakeview/St.Paul's cemeteries were created in 1870 as the original Protestant & Catholic burial grounds in Gravenhurst. At the time, the area had been heavily logged, so there were no trees of any size, and Lake Muskoka was visible from the cemetery,hence the name. Many of the town's forefathers are buried here. Since the trees have grown larger, the lake is no longer visible, hence the name of the cache.
