High Wickham is a hidden gem of the Old Town often over looked by tourists and local alike. The area offers lovely views across the Old Town and Bourne Valley
The cache is a 35 mm film cannister, please take care when replacing.
There are a number of ways of approaching the area, steps and paths from the West Hill and Harold Rd lead there, you may also drive, but the road is very narrow and parking is diffcult.
Humphrey Wickham was a local butcher who owned a shop in the High St, in 1822 he purchased part of the area knowed as Great Meadow above Minnis Rock.
Several houses are shown on a map of that time, when it was called Prospect Place, Wickham continued to build and complted the terrace and renamed after himself,
The area has over the years been home to a number of writers and artists.
