The South Mountain GeoBash is the kickoff for a new geocaching trail in South Central PA.
The GeoBash is open to all and will take place on October 16, 2010, with activities starting at 9:30AM and running through 2:00PM. Workshops, GeoHunt, & Lunch are just some of the fun you can have at this FREE event...
Capital Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D), a regional nonprofit group, is hosting the South Mountain GeoTrail project kickoff event, the South Mountain GeoBash, on October 16, 2010.
The South Mountain GeoTrail links up to 50 sites in four counties – Adams, Cumberland, Franklin and York – that share the northern end of the Blue Ridge Mountain range. The trail is designed to lead geocachers to agricultural, natural and cultural highlights of the South Mountain region.
The GeoBash will feature workshops, a geohunt, a light lunch, entertainment, and a networking opportunity.

Geocaching is a family-friendly activity where participants use handheld GPS units to locate cache boxes hidden in out-of-the-way places. It’s a high-tech treasure hunt to find exciting places within the region- gather stamps in return for prizes and fun!
