Gårdar & Hus i Lerum är en serie cacher som visar olika gårdar, hus och byggnader i Lerum som har någon typ av historia att berätta. Eftersom alla hus är bebodda eller flitigt använda är det nödvändigt att försöka ta cacherna obemärkt.
Gårdar & Hus i Lerum is a series of cache that shows various farms, houses and buildings in Lerum that have some kind of story to tell. Since each house is occupied or frequently used, it is necessary to be stealth.

Det vita huset på den lilla kullen på samma sida vägen som ledtråden är Esstorp, den gamla Gästgivaregården i Lerum. Redan 1619 nämndes gården i ett tingsprotokoll där det stadgades att värden skulle ha 24 stallplatser och även kunna ordna skjuts med häst och vagn inom två timmar. Alla hade enligt lag rätt att ta in på gästgiverigården förutom luffare och lumpsamlare.
När sedan järnvägen kom till i mitten på 1800-talet minskades beläggningen varpå värden i Lerum anordnade olagligt spel och dobbel för att försörja sig, dock ej med högre insats än 50 öre! enligt ett tingsprotokoll.
Det största sällskapet som besökte gästgiveriet kom den 30 november 1653. Det var den engelske ambassadören Bulstrode Whitelocke som på väg till Stockholm här hade sin första kontakt med svenska gästgiverigårdar och blev så imponerad att han sedan var delaktig i att införa samma ”bed and breakfast” system i England.
Ambassadörens sällskap bestod förutom av ambassadören själv och hans häst av 100 lånta svenska hästar, två förnämliga resvagnar dragna av sex hästar var och etthundra små fyrhjuliga bagagevagnar, som drogs av en häst eller två oxar eller kor. Ambassadören skall också ha blivit belönad av Drottning Kristina för att han ”ha lärt hovdamerna att kyssas på engelskt vis”.

(Vid husnumret kan man, om man tittar ca 80 meter i NNV riktning, se var Lerums Pensionat låg under första hälften av förra seklet. Idag finns där en frisör på samma plats.)

The white house on the small hill on the same side of the road that clue is Esstorp, the old inn in Lerum.
Already in 1619 the Inn was mentioned in court records that provides that the Inn should have 24 places for horses and also able to arrange a ride with horse and carriage within two hours. All had a statutory right to enter the inn apart of tramps and stock collectors.
When the railroad arrived in the mid-1800s number of guests was reduced so the innkeeper in Lerum organized illegal gambling for a living, but not with higher stakes than 50 öre! according to a court records.

The largest party that visited the inn came November 30, 1653. It was the English ambassador Bulstrode Whitelocke travelling to Stockholm, this was his first contact with Swedish inns and he was so impressed that he was later involved in introducing the "bed and breakfast” system in England.
The Ambassador's company consisted except the ambassador himself and his horse of 100 borrowers Swedish horses, two prestigious traveling carriages drawn by six horses each, one hundred small four-wheeled baggage cart, pulled by a horse or two oxen or cows. The ambassador was also rewarded by Queen Christina of his having taught ladies of the court to kiss the English way.

At the substep there is a house number (z) that shall be used as follows to find the finals; N57 ° aa.aaa ', E 12 ° bb.bbb'.

(At the location of the substep you can, if you look about 80 meters in the NNW direction, see where Lerum’s first Guesthouse were located during the first half of the last century. It now houses a hairdresser at the same place.)
