A short walk on a new trail
The dedicated volunteers of the Waltham Land Trust have put in countless hours to build and maintain this section of the Western Greenway Trail System.
This section is an extension of the trail that exits at Falzone Field. "The Martians Have Landed".
This area was just brush and overgrown vines and trees before the trail workers carved out a beautiful winding trail and built wooden bridges through the Shady's Pond Area. There is still much to do and The Land Trust can use volunteers...give them a call, show your appreciation for their tireless effort.
My other caches in the area "Recess at Shady's Pond" and "Shady's Pond Redemption" are along the trail system and not too far away...give them a try and check out the trail improvements.
This cache is an "offficial geocache" log only container, and should be a quick grab for most. Please do not dislodge the container.
Parking is at the East end of Our Lady's Church parking lot. Trail access is about halfway between the fence and Trapelo Rd.
