A cache placed in honor of our two oldest kitties... Emily Elizabeth and Brat. Emmy was 11 when she passed away and Brat was 17. Both are sadly missed. Please feel free to use this as a tb motel.
Emily Elizabeth joined our family on October 7, 1998. I was 7 months pregnant and she was a single newborn kitten abandoned in my parents basement in Upstate NY. My mom was going to let nature take it's course, and I of course said NO! We brought Emmy home weighing 3.7 ounces and bottle fed and all that with. Every two hours! Such a great preparation for motherhood! We often called her our oldest daughter, and Katie will tell everyone she has an older sister named Emily Elizabeth. Emmy was an accomplished cat! SHe was in cat shows and did fairly well... never placing less than 4th out of the DSH (Domestic SHort Hair) division. SHe was published in Cat for Dummies 2nd Edition, and was the love of her Daddy's life. She would lie in his arms and suck her large thumb. Brat was our first cat, back in 1994. She was adopted in JUly, but going on age, we gave her Rob's Mom's Birthday of April 9th. Brat was a brat, and would follow us around. She was the spitting image..well almost...of a cat I had growing up, and I talked Rob into adopting her. AS she aged, she started to fail and kitty dementia and kitty alzheimer's set in. She would meow from the kitchen because she couldn't find us. It got to the point where she let us know we needed to let her go, and so with tears in our eyes and our vets eyes, we did. Both are sorely missed here... Brat for loving to cuddle, and Emmy for her fiestiness! As a note of interest... this cache is on private property and permission is freely given to search for it. I would not recommend this cache at 2 am since there are a few officers of the law who live in the development and take it upon themselves to patrol the area at night if they're on duty! But they know it's there.
