Well the challenge has been put forth!! How many accounts can log a find in one day! This is another part of the celebration of 10 years for both Groundspeak and Geocaching, so what better day than 10\10\10.
Help us help Groundspeak beat the old record of 56,654 on April 18, 2010.
Its not the number of geocaches found on this day, but rather the number of members that log a find on this day.
At time of writing, there are 1,199,918 active geocaches around the world, and there are over 5 million members (singles to families) worldwide -- what a great game! Help make it bigger!The event takes place at the historic Ymir Hotel.
Come and meet with us at 12:00 noon (we know, its not 10:00 am, but couldn't get the hotel open for lunch at 10 and besides, look at the final digits in the coords), for a light lunch, gab, perhaps some informative yak on things like GSAK, which GPS to get, how to go about paperless geocaching. Also available is a personal tour of this hotel and all the impressive art and artifacts on display!
Perhaps there will be a few new caches to find nearby as well!
Cachers of all ages are welcome. We have exclusive use of a meeting room and can spill out if needed.
There will be a special door prize -- one for kids and one for adults.
