I often do the walk from Stoke to Stone along the Trent &
Mersey Canal. It's a nice walk and I always spot something new.
Congratulations to sharant on FTF.
If you'd like to do this nice walk, park near the station
(either Stoke or Stone, depending on which way you want to go) and
the train fare back to your car will be £1.70 (adult off peak
price).
I spotted this little fella hopping around on the towpath
looking very confused. I picked him up and popped him on the grass
so that he wouldn't get squished by cyclists.
Look at the size of this mushroom, I placed my GPS on the floor
next to it to give some scale.
Barlaston is about half way along this walk, and is a lovely
little village with a pub and a few shops.
If this cache is popular I'll place a few more along this
route.
This Cache is a small clip-lock box wrapped in black cloth (Ok
it's a sock), to make it less visible. It contains a log book, a
few pencils, a few swappables and a Glowstick type luminous
necklace as a prize for FTF.
(Note, there is a private road nearby, you do not need to go
onto this road to find the cache, it is on the public right of
way)
