This Forty acres of old homestead land on the Upper Skagit River was given to Skagit County Parks and Recreation by Warren Pressentin and was dedicated on August 11, 1991.
Frank Pressentin settled in Birdsview in 1878. He married Mabel in 1904 and purchased the Pressentin Homestead. They planted the orchard in 1906. (Be bear-a-ware! On the day the cache was placed a bear had been enjoying the fruits of that orchard and had left plenty of evidence behind!)
Mabel operated the Pioneer Hotel, now known as The Log House Inn until 1920. She was appointed Post Master of the Marblemount post office in 1925. Warren Pressentin was the son of Frank and Mabel.
Parking for the park is at the Shell station. The trail head is to the west of parking.
