Cache is located in the Kettleby cemetary and near a unique building in this part of Ontario, also in the cemetary - a cold house. This should be a quick park and grab, but you might want to spend some time in this beautiful cemetary and historic hamlet.
Cold houses were used to temporarily house corpses during winter months when the ground was frozen. The Kettleby cemetary dates back to 1891 and the cold house to 1899. This cold house and the other one in the King City cemetary are unique in that they are octagonal in design, thus maximizing the use of space. They are rarities in this part of Ontario. If you have an octagonal cold house in a cemetary near you, I would appreciate knowing its existence.
GPS accuracy was slightly low when placing the cache container (bring a pen or pencil), but hint will give away its location.
Enjoy this beautiful cemetary. Many of the early settlers' families are buried here.
