The year the first collection of Winnie the Pooh books were released was 19xx (A) Winnie the Pooh was translated into many languages, in 19xx (B) it became the first latin book to ever be posted on the New York Times Best Seller List. Christopher Milne had named his toy bear after Winnie, a Canadian black bear which he often saw at London Zoo, and "Pooh", a swan they had met while on holiday. The bear cub was purchased from a hunter for $xx (C) by Canadian Lieutenant Harry Colebourn in White River, Ontario, Canada, while en route to England during the First World War. He named the bear "Winnie" after his hometown in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Winnie-the-Pooh stories are set in Ashdown Forest, Sussex, England. The forest is a large area of tranquil open heathland on the highest sandy ridges of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty situated xx (D) miles south of London. Many locations in the stories can be linked to real places in and around the forest. As Christopher Milne wrote in his autobiography: “Pooh’s forest and Ashdown Forest are identical”. For example, the fictional "Hundred Acre Wood" was in reality 500 Acre Wood; Galleon's Leap was inspired by the prominent hilltop of Gill's Lap, while a clump of trees just north of Gill's Lap became Christopher Robin's The Enchanted Place because no-one had ever been able to count whether there were sixty-three or xx (E) trees in the circle. The first time Pooh and his friends appeared in colour was 19xx (F), when he was drawn by Slesinger in his now-familiar red shirt and featured on an RCA Victor picture record. ------------------------------- So your coords will be as follows; N 47' 12.(A+B+C)x2 +18 W 121' 59.(D+E+F)x4 -102 These coords were avg. to 9ft. but due to the buildings in the area they might drift. GOOD LUCK +++FTF HONORS FOR SPROUTTER+++ \\ Updated 3-4-14 The hide has been approved by the owner so it is ok to search. They enjoy watching people searching. Updated 11/26/20 I have added a checker but this is a very straight forward WIKI page puzzle. It is word for word and some very simple math. Good luck Updated 7/26/2022 It has come to my attention that the associated 'related page" on wiki is no longer linked or available. There is a Wiki page for that has the majority of the information.
