Geocache Description:

Cache is a hangy thingy with a FTF of a world famous Thomasfamily102 limited edition t-shirt.

Alot of time when the Thomas Family is out caching, our dad will tell us stories of his youth many, many years ago. Some of the stuff he did while probably not exactly legal, was kind of cool. This series is going to highlight some of dad's stories.

North of this cache about a quarter of a mile, there is a driveway that leads to a campground. On this driveway there is a bridge. Way back in the day it was the original bridge for the inter-urban railroad that ran from Ft. Wayne to points north. They would stop here and pick up gravel as it was a working gravel pit.

Before it was a campground dad told us they used to go here and go swimming while it was a gravel pit.

He said it was also a very good spot for taking a girl to watch submarine races. I don't know why on earth ANY girl would want to watch submarine races. You couldn't see them because they were underwater. This gravel pit isn't that big. And he said it was always dark besides. But he swore alot of girls liked to go and watch the races. Beats me!

I think dad is a dweeb on this one because I still don't believe a girl would want to go watch submarine races.
