This is Pike County's first letterbox hybrid, and it is NOT found at the posted coordinates. Follow these instructions to find this cache...
The posted coordinates will take you to a sort of "crossroads" along the hiking trail. From this location (the posted coordinates at the top of this page, NOT the parking coordinates), you will need to project a waypoint and hike to a point 1915 feet away at a bearing of 326 degrees true North, not magnetic North (true North is the default for projecting waypoints on most GPS units). There you will find the prize, an ammo can with swag, log book, and stamping accoutrements for those into letterboxing. Please do not take the stamp items.
Many GPS units, including Garmin's 60cs series, Oregons, Delorme's PN-xx, etc.) have the ability to project a waypoint right from the unit. Mobile apps, such as iGCT, can do projections too. Other software, such as Geocacher's Swiss Army Knife can do this from your computer; here's how.
Please remember that hunters will be out and about in season. Plan the timing of your trip appropriately, and be sure to wear your blaze orange in season!
