The Michigan Spirit Quest series of
geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries
built by MICHIGAN Pioneers. This series is inspired by and is a
continuation of the Indiana Spirit Quest caches created by
SixDogTeam.

"Don't Cross the
Coal"
WELCOME TO MEDINA CEMETERY
This cemetery is
located behind Medina Federated Church.
This cemetery is the final resting place of
Captain William Channing Moore. William Moore enlisted as a private
in the First Michigan Infantry in 1861 at the age of 16. In July of
1862 He was promoted to 1st Lieutenant of the 18th Michigan
Infantry. By November of that year he was promoted again to
Captain. He served as Captain until his untimely death in May of
1866. He drowned while while attempting to cross the Coal River in
the Indian Territory. He was only 21 when he drowned.

The cache
container is a small Lock & Lock. BYOP. The cache is not
located near a grave... If you find a fallen US flag, please stick
it back in the ground or replace it. As always, please be
respectful, and cache in, trash out. Say a prayer for our brave
