The cache is hidden along County Road 14, about one-eighth mile west of an old concrete structure. The structure caught my eye due to the date "1925" being etched into it.
In 1925 the US economy was booming. President Coolidge said, "the business of America is business." NY City became the largest city in the world (taking the lead from London), Chrysler Corporation was founded, TV was invented, as was the potato chip. The Scopes trial (about prohibiting teaching of evolution) took place in Tennessee, and in Wyoming the first female governor was elected (Nellie Taylor Ross). Mt Rushmore was dedicated, the "Great Gatsby was published, the "Grand Ole Oprey" made its debut, and Rogers Hornsby won the triple crown in baseball.
Several notable show biz people were born, including Paul Newman, Donald O'Conner, Peter Sellers, Jack Lemon, Rod Steiger, Angela Landsbury, Johnny Carson, and Sammy Davis Jr.
The most important birth, tho, was that of the Yankee catcher, Yogi Berra. Remember, "it's not over 'til it's over." And, "if you come to a fork in the road, take it." What a philosopher...
