A nano geocache placement in the Canfield Moore Cemetery, in the
spirit of those who are gone but not forgotten. BYOP.
A pocket-sized cemetery on Werner Road in Lyndon Township, MI, the
Canfield Moore Cemetery serves as the final resting place for
almost four dozen people, most of whom settled this part of
Washtenaw County in the 1800s. Among those buried here are
Canfields, Clarks, Moores, and Willseys. The earliest gravesite
dates back to 1835, while the most recent is only a handful of
years old. Many of the headstones have had their engraving worn
away by time, while others are remarkably fresh despite the year of
their placement.
This nano cache was placed in the spirit of the Spirit Quest
project, started by the Northwest Ohio Geocachers to distinguish
those caches that are set in cemeteries or memorial gardens. Please
be respectful of the area. Hours are from dawn to dusk. Please BYOP
and use stealth, as there are residences across the street and next
door to the cemetery. Parking is off Werkner Road on the grassy
area just outside the cemetery gate.

Congratulations to CowboyNate on his
FTF!
