The Vault
The Team Garmin Coin Vault, located in the lobby of Garmin Yarmouth headquarters, holds Team Garmin's geocoins and those we have collected all over the United States and Canada. Most of the coins are activated and trackable, so use the list of tracking numbers to discover them! (Tip: Photograph the list - it's long!)
Note: We had to hide the cache log book underneath the vault, it's held up by a magnet. Please be discrete and replace it when you are finished signing. Orient the log book the way you found it so the magnet holds well, rotate 90 degrees if it falls off!
Visiting
There is plenty of parking available. Pets are not allowed in the building but they are welcome in the parking lot. The building is open during normal business hours. Note that the building is not open on the weekends.
The Case
The wood used in the geocoin case comes from Herbie, which, at 217 years, was the oldest American Elm tree in New England. The tree—known as Herbie since the 1950s—stood on the corner of East Main Street and Yankee Drive in Yarmouth. Herbie succumbed to Dutch Elm disease in January 2010. Herbie was taken care of by Yarmouth’s volunteer tree warden, Frank Knight, for many years.
The case was made by Robert O. Newton, a furniture maker from Yarmouth.
