Geocache Description:

Bracket Mountain rises to 5018 feet above sea level. Near the top there is a flat area with a spectacular view of Mount Jefferson, Thunder Mountain that is suitable for camping.

The route to place this cache was worked out by TWIGMEISTER and Dancing Penguin. Start at Lost Meadow trailhead and follow the trail towards Skookum Lake until you get to the sharp turn in the trail and head towards Bracket Mountain. Watch for trail flagging and a few blazes while keeping your altitude at around 4650 to 4670. To your right you will see the horizon of the Baty/Bracket Ridge growing closer, after you pass some rock outcrops to the right you will come to a ridge-spur that will take you to the main ridge.
Follow the ridge until you get to Bracket Mountain. This part of hike has a faint trail and is a lot flatter than the preceeding path.
Look for the Benchmark on top of Bracket and you will see the ammo can a few feet away. We found a note from someone who made the summit on 8-28-10 and put it with the cache.
