Geocache Description:

The cache is located down the slope from Slate Point Lookout at an elevation of 7320'. You will be looking for a camoed Nalgene type water bottle. Take Forest Road 441 (Nut Basin Road) from Slate Creek.

Information copied from www.firelookout.com: "A 75' pole tower with 7x7' cab and accompanying ground cabin living quarters were built in 1931, replaced by a 41' treated timber L-4 in 1948. The present 41' treated timber tower with flat cab, built in 1979, is available during emergencies." Information from Nez Perce National Forest web page says that this lookout is staffed during the summer months.
